I was so excited to be asked to make a Harry Potter themed shoe for a client who was attending a Harry Potter themed wedding in November this year.
The most amazing part of this project was that she had given me full creative control, even down to the colour of the shoe. Her only stipulation was that the shoes needed to have a pointed toe and a golden snitch on the back.
The shoes I decided to use were a metallic silver with a slightly higher back, a great colour and shape for Harry Potter themed shoes. I started by covering the shoes in writing and symbols down both sides of the shoes. The outer shoe featured the words 'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good' and the inner side detailed the Deathly Harrow sign and Harry Potter spectacles. I then hand painted tiny white stars with swarovski crystals all over the shoes including the heel.
For the front of the shoe I made a tiny spell book, a miniature wand and small 'Daily Prophet' newspaper. As my client had requested, I made her a golden snitch out of clay and feathers for the back of shoe. On the underside of shoe I stamped a red Hogwarts seal of approval!
These shoes were a treat to make and she absolutely loved them and so did I! I was slightly upset when they went away as they are definately one of my favourite creations!
